India celebrates Swami Vivekananda Jayanthi and National Youth Day

Swami Vivekananda Jayanthi is auspiciously celebrated all over India on 12th January, every year. Swami Vivekananda, a noble spiritual leader and a monk is an inspiration for today’s youth in all over the world because of his heroics. Thus, Indian Government has marked 12th January as National Youth Day. In India, schools and institutions celebrate Swami Vivekananda Jayanthi to spread the inspirational thoughts of Swami Vivekananda in the society.

Swami Vivekananda, who was born on 12th January, 1863 in an elite Bengali family is remembered for introducing Indian philosophies such as Yoga and Vedanta to the world.  Swami Vivekananda was known as the disciple of Ramakrishna while his faith and contribution towards Hinduism and spreading its awareness is a well-known fact.  Vivekananda was interested in spirituality and meditation at a young age and was fascinated by monks while he also founded Ramkrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission in Belur Math.

He was great scholar and has received first-division marks in the entrance examination of Presidency University. He was interested in different subjects that include history, literature, arts, religion and philosophy along with that he had great interest in Vedas, Ramayana , Puranas, Bhagvad Gita and Ramayana. He had received training in classical music while he also took participation is different co-curricular activites, sports and physical exercise. Vivekananda studied Western logic, Sanskrit scriptures,Western philosophy, Bengali Literature and European history. A great man with a genius mind, Vivekananda was always praised for his talents and a person who believed in his dreams and visions. His notable works is an inspiration for young India.
