Early life 

A.R. Rahman is a very popular Indian singer born to A.S. Dileep Kumar. He learned to play piano as a young child growing up in Chennai, India. His father died when he was nine years old because of which he then had to support the family by playing the piano. Rahman is married to Saira Banu and they have three children: Khatija, Rahima, and Ameen. Rahman graduated with a diploma in Western classical music from the school.  His mother was a practicing Hindu. At the age of 23, he converted to Islam with other members of his family and changed his name to Allah Rakha Rahman (A.R. Rahman)Rahman was introduced to Qadiri tariqa when his younger sister was seriously ill.

He’s done fantastically well in Indian Classical Music along with electron music. He has also won many awards and the biggest of them being the Oscar. The reason A.R. He is world known for redesigning and reshaping contemporary Indian music. He has also contributed to the success of many films through his music. A.R. Oscar

Music composer A.R. Rahman is the only Indian to have won two Oscar awards, which is the most for any Indian. Rahman won the ‘Best Original Song’ and ‘Best Original Score’ awards for his composition in ‘Slumdog Millionaire’. Bhanu Athaiya was the first Indian to win an Oscar for ‘Best Costume Design’ for the film ‘Gandhi’. Also his work in 127 Hours won him Golden Globe, BAFTA, and two Academy Award nominations (Best Original Music Score and Best Original Song) in 2011 Rahman is an Honorary Fellow of the Trinity College of Music.
