3. Begin with a heavier stuff
It is a well-known fact that our willpower decreases as the day progresses. Well, you must begin your preparation with the heavier stuff which usually requires more concentration power.
4. Not preparing the 3 stages with seriousness
A lot of UPSC students put all their focus on the Mains examination and in this process, they forget that the 3 stages- Prelims, Mains, and Interview need to be taken seriously. In many situations, top candidates get eliminated in the interview round.
5. Using multiple sources
There is no doubt on this fact that UPSC Syllabus is too vast and one needs to use a lot of resources to cover the syllabus. But one must understand that it would be a mistake to refer to many sources, just for a single topic.

6. Lack of practice and spending too much time on newspapers

7. Being too nervous
Yes, it is the important phase of your life and it is nothing wrong in being nervous but letting that feeling affect your performance in the examination will definitely cloud the way you think.
8. Overconfident
There is a thin line between confidence and overconfidence and there are some candidates who become overconfident because of their academic performance in mock tests. Well, it important to be confident for the UPSC exam but being arrogant can cost you a lot in the long-run.
