Finally, the much-awaited CBSE 2018 results are declared and like every year we have a topper who keeps on inspiring the next year’s student. Well, Meghna Srivastava, a student of Step by Step School secured a top rank in the examinations by scoring 499 marks out of 500.

A Noida student Meghna, lost out on 1 mark in her English(core) paper to score 99. While she scored 100 In Other Subjects -Psychology, History, Geography, and Economics too. This is a marvellous achievement, isn’t it?

Further, 2nd ranker, Anoushka Chandra, who studies in Ghaziabad’s SAJ School, scored 498 marks. Meanwhile, 7 students shared the 3rd spot to score 497 marks.

While the overall pass percentage is this year is 83.01, up one percentage point since last year. According to reports, 12,737 candidates scored 95% or above and 72,599 candidates scored 90% and above in the examination.
Meanwhile, the top 3 regions are Trivandrum with 97.32%, Chennai with 93.87% and Delhi with 89%. Also, the pass percentage of students in foreign schools in 2018 stood at 94.94 against last year’s 92.02. Well, this comes as a massive achievement for the board.
Like every year, we saw the girls have again outperformed with an overall passing percentage of 88.31 compared to 78.09 for boys.

Among the disabled students, Vijay Ganesh from Palakkad in Kerala was the one to top the examination to secure secured 98.4%. While Pooja Kumari from Dehradun in Uttarakhand came 2nd with 97.8% and Lavanya Jha of DPS RK Puram in Delhi was the one who became third with 97.4%. Reports say that 141 students scored 90% and above marks among disabled students and 25 students got 95% and above. Now, they will have to appear in the compartmental exam.
According to officials, around 91,818 students failed in one of the five subjects.
You must know that around 11,86,306 candidates were registered for the class 12 examinations while the examinations were held at exams were held at 4,138 centres in India and 71 centres outside the country.
The topper said that there is no secret formula for her success and said that it was only consistent hard work which has paid off finally.
Speaking to NDTV, she said, “I am happy, never expected this. Class XII is all about consistency. Also, do not stress over boards. There is no secret. You have to just work hard, be consistent. You just have to study throughout the year.”
Later she thanked her parents, teachers, she said, “I am very happy. It’s an overwhelming moment. I want to thank my parents and school.”
While she now plans to study psychology in future from University of British Columbia, Vancouver.
