If Virat Kohli Is The 2nd Fastest Indian To Score 6000 Runs, Then Who Is The Quickest?

The world worshipped the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Rahul Dravid, Sunil Gavaskar. Now, it’s time to bow down to Virat Kohli who has now become the 2nd fastest Indian batsman to reach 6000 Test runs.

The Indian skipper has silenced his critics after smashing 2 brilliant centuries in current England series. Also, he has not given his wicket to his 2014 rival and England’s paceman James Anderson. Well done, Kohli.

Well, he has achieved this feat in the 4th test match against England in the 22nd over of India’s 1st innings. Playing his  70th Test and 119th innings at Southampton, Kohli came out to bat after Shikhar Dhawan got out at 23 runs. He was batting on 9 when he reached the 6000-run mark.

He played a streaky shot and which took him past the historic figure in his 117th innings.

If Kohli is 2nd then who is the fastest to Indian batsmen to accomplish this feat? It is the legendary batsman Sunil Gavaskar who has achieved this feat in just 65 Tests (117 innings). While Kohli is in the 2nd spot, swashbuckling batsman Virender Sehwag is 3rd (72 Tests, 123 innings). Rahul Dravid (73 Tests, 125 innings) is on 4th and master blaster Sachin Tendulkar is on the 5th spot.

While fans were expecting Virat Kohli to slam another century, unfortunately, he got out at 46. Meanwhile, the Delhi batsmen have already gone past the 450-run mark in this series is currently looking strong at the moment.

if we talk about Kohli’s Test career, he averages close to 55 after representing his country in 70 matches. Further, he has smashed 23 centuries out of which includes 6 double-hundreds and 18 half-centuries. Well, this shows his dedication towards the sport.

England has smashed 246 in their first innings while it was Cheteshwar Pujara’s 132 which has helped India to score 232 in the 2nd one. Though hosts are 2-1 up in the series, India is looking dangerous at the moment and we can now expect Virat Kohli’s men to bounce back in the match.
