LSD was itself an experimental film and it was Rao who chose such a unique movie for his debut, displaying confidence in his unique talent.

Rajkummar Rao needed a movie which will prove his worth in Bollywood. Fortunately, his first major commercial success came in with Abhishek Kapoor’s Kai Po Che which also starred Sushant Singh Rajput and Amit Sadh in leading roles. While the movie was based on Chetan Bhagat’s novel 3 Mistakes of my Life, it was Rajkummar who gave a superb performance as Govind Patel, a man who wants to expand their little sports business into a big one. Meanwhile, critics too praise his performance in the movie.
3. Bareilly Ki Barfi

Director Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari’s movie turned out to be both critical and a commercial success at the box office.
With Director Amit V Masurkar’s Newton, Rajkummar Rao proved that he is here to stay not just because of his name, but because of the quality work which he brings to the screen. Well, the comedy-drama was praised in India as well as internationally too. Further, Newton was selected as the Indian entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 90th Academy Awards.
Rajkummar Rao who plays the role of Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh, British terrorist of Pakistani descent in Omerta was once again praised for his acting.
