What A Terror! England Smashed A Whopping 481 in an ODI Against Australia, Sets A New World Record

Another shocker from England cricket team as they thrashed arch-rivals Australia in the 3rd ODI of a 5-match series by a record-breaking 243 runs to win the series 3-0 at Trent Bridge.

At 1:45 PM, Australia had put England in to bat, when Alex Hales and Jonny Bairstow, scored mindblowing centuries to surpass their previous record of 444/3 against Pakistan and smash the highest-ever ODI score by a men cricket team on Tuesday.

Jonny Bairstow’s crazy 139 and a superb 147 by Alex Hales ensured England break their old record of 444/3 made against Pakistan, at the same ground, around 2 years ago.

What an innings!

Later, skipper Eoin Morgan too joined the party as he struck a 21-ball half century, which is the fastest by an England batsman in ODIs. Moreover, the 31-year-old batsman is now also the leading one-day run scorer for his country.

At one point England touched 446/3 in 45.3 overs and it seemed that the team will score past 500-runs and break the world-record held by New Zealand Women cricket team of scoring 490 runs but that couldn’t happen as Australian cricket team took a few late wickets as England reached 481/6 in 50 overs.

Meanwhile, Australia fast bowler Andrew Tye really had a bad day as he went wicketless and was smashed for 100 runs in his 9 overs.

How the mighty have fallen! World champions Australia could only score 239/9 as they faced a huge defeat and finally lost the series.

For the hosts, Adil Rashid scalped 4 wickets while Moeen Ali took  3 wickets as Australia suffered their 14th defeat in 16 completed ODIs.

Well, this is England’s largest victory and Australia’s worst defeat – both by runs.
