In a shocking news for Salman Khan and family, the actor-producer Arbaaz Khan has been summoned by Thane police in relation with Indian Premier League (IPL) betting scam.
According to reports, Salman’s brother was summoned on Friday afternoon after the arrest of a bookie Sonu Yogendra Jalan, alias Sonu Malad, who is considered as one of the high profile bookies. Reports say Arbaaz’s name up during the investigation of Sonu Jalan.
Now the Tera Intezaar star has been asked to join the probe by the police officials.

Surprisingly, after the arrest of Jalan, the Thane anti-extortion cell got a diary which had phone numbers of more than 100 bookies.
“We have got the list of bookies and are verifying it with Jalan. We found the book during a search at his home,” a senior police official said.
Bookie Threatens Arbaaz
It is said that Bookie Sonu Jalan was threatening Arbaaz Khan as he had lost bets and had to give 2.8 crores to Sonu.
Pradeep Sharma, the senior police inspector from Thane anti-extortion cell, said, “During the investigation, it was found that Arbaaz was being threatened by Jalan as he had lost money on one of the matches.”

Further, the match-fixing meeting was held at Dubai and the Dabangg star was also present over there.
“Jalan had arranged a match-fixing meeting at Dubai. The celebrity was also present at that time. We are probing to know which match was fixed and who all were involved, Sharma added.
Sources claim that Jalan is linked with underworld don Dawood Ibrahim as well as has connections in Sri Lanka too.
On May 16, the 42-year-old Jalan who used to operate from India as well as abroad was arrested in connection with a betting racket that was busted in Dombivali.

Meanwhile, the 4 bookies- Gautam Savla, Nitin Punjani, Nikhil Sampat, and Khushal Khimji were arrested by the anti-extortion cell during a raid in a shop at Shanti Sadan, Dombivli East. It is said that they were caught betting online during the IPL match between Mumbai Indians and Kings XI Punjab at Wankhede stadium. Later, one more bookie Vrajesh Joshi was also arrested.
Sonu Jalan Arrested
The cricket bookie was arrested in Mumbai from Kalyan court when police came to know about his presence.
Jalan was arrested from Kalyan by the anti-extortion cell for providing software to the five bookies, who were earlier arrested in the Dombivali case.
Police inspector Rajkumar Kotmire, of the Thane anti-extortion cell, said, “His software called ‘Bet and Take’ is quite famous among bookies and is used by them in India and internationally as well.
He added,”His arrest is big, as it will help us unearth the national and international network of bookies.”
According to Financial Times, Jalan had come to the court to meet an arrested accused to get more information about IPL case. It is said the bookie has links with many renown Bollywood celebrities as well.
Well, if Arbaaz is found guilty, he is going to be in deep trouble.
