On the Path Of Redemption, Steve Smith Shares An Emotional Message For His Fans

Australian skipper Steve Smith who lost his respect among his fans after his involvement in the infamous ball-tampering scandal promises all the Australian fans to earn back the trust of his countrymen.

We all are aware of the massive humiliation that Australian cricket team suffered during their tour of South Africa in the previous month.

Well! The ‘Sandpaper Gate’ caused Smith to lose his captaincy and be banned for 1 year by Cricket Australia while his teammate David Warner was banned for 12 months along with that Cameron Bancroft was had to face suspension for around 9 months.

On Friday, Steve Smith decided to share an emotional message with his fans on Instagram.

The 28-year-old batsman who had returned his home after spending some time in the United States press conference said that he was “extremely humbled” by the messages of support he received after the trouble.

Thanking his parents and wife, Smith wrote,”To my Mum, Dad and Dani you have been my rock through all this and I can’t thank you enough.”

Sharing his feeling on his family, Smith said,”Family is the most important thing in the world and I thank you for your love and support.”

Meanwhile, the ball-tampering incidents saw Australian coach Darren Lehmann stepping down and was replaced by the former Australian Test batsman Justin Langer in all three formats.

On the suspension of the banned trio, Justin Langer said,” They’ve made mistakes. We have all made mistakes and we can all get better.”

Though David, Steve, and Cameron will not be able to play domestic cricket in Australia they are allowed to play overseas also it is being reported that Steve will join  English county side, Surrey.
