An ardent Lionel Messi fan, Dinu Alex who had attempted suicide by jumping into a river after Argentina’s shocking defeat at the hands of Croatia in the FIFA World Cup 2018 has been found near Illikkal Bridge in Kottayam on Sunday, after 2 days.
While a search was going on trace Alex for last 2 days, later the Kottayam district administration was planning to approach the navy.
Police found Alex’s body
Local police claim that a group of people who had come to take a bath in the river on Sunday spotted the body of Alex. Later, Alex’s relatives too had identified the body.
It seems that the 30-year-old B.sc graduate was deeply hurt by Argentina’s loss as he had left his residence after writing a note expressing disappointment over the defeat of Messi and Co. on Friday night.
Family in Shock
On Friday, his mother had found the kitchen door open and saw that Alex was missing. At first, his family members thought that he was playing some sort of prank with him but later his slippers were found on the banks of the nearby river which left them in a state of shock.

Alex’s father P V Alexander said, “We got suspicious after we recovered a letter from his room. We initially thought it was a prank. Later, we found his slippers on the banks of the river.”

A senior police official said, “We will hand over the body to relatives after the post-mortem. It seems to be a case of suicide.”
Moreover, his friends also said that Alex would register an impressive win against Croatia and will reach the pre-quarterfinals. Unfortunately, the team lost
Alex wrote a suicide note
Alex who works as an accountant with a private firm said, “I have no more interest in this world. I am leaving. My soccer god has let me down. I am proceeding towards death and none is responsible.”
It was really shocking to know that such a young educated man decided to take such a drastic step.
“I’ve seen everything that had to be seen. What’s there to see now? I’m diving into the depths,” said Alex in his suicide note.
Now, police have turned really careful after several areas observed a near-shutdown on Friday after Argentina’s loss. While the police had to interfere when a group of Brazil fans celebrated Argentina’s loss by bursting crackers in Kunnamangalam on Thursday.
Meanwhile, everyone is slamming Dinu Alex on social media for his stupidity.
