Gold Trailer Is Quite Catchy And Amazing, Akshay Kumar Has Definitely Hit This One Out Of The Hockey Stadium

Gold Trailer is out and Akshay Kumar is back in his in his patriotic form this Independence day after the huge the success of PadMan. Well, the 50-year-old superstar will be seen playing the role of a coach of a pre-independence Indian hockey team.

The movie is inspired by India’s first Olympic gold medal which portrays the golden era of Indian hockey through the journey of Tapan Das, a young assistant manager in 1936 who aspire to play for an independent nation.

Sharing the trailer of the movie on Twitter, Akshay wrote, “Winners under British India, Legends under Free India. Witness the golden era of Indian Hockey through #Gold.”

The two-minutes nineteen-second trailer begins with a voice-over announcing “Gold, British India,” with the intense-looking Akshay staring at the British flag. Moreover, the trailer is a unique combination of patriotism and sports.

Later, Naagin star Mouni Roy who appears for just 5 seconds in the trailer was spotted criticizing Akshay in Bengali. He then gives a  then proceeds to deliver a monologue portraying his love for his country. Later, we also see Kunal Kapoor, Amit Sadh, Vineet Kumar Singh and Sunny Kaushal who are hockey players with immense passion towards the game.

Moreover, it is interesting to see Akshay playing the role of a Bengali in the movie.

Now, for the first time ever, Akshay will be seen as a Bengali in the movie and the trailer shows Akshay(Tapan Das) which brings together a hockey team that falls and gets united again to achieve the dream.

Earlier, Akshay had said about the release of the movie in an interview.

He said, “Gold releases on August 15 and on August 12 is the 70th anniversary of India’s first gold medal as a free country at the 1948 Summer Olympic Games in London.”

“The release couldn’t have been planned better. It’s a matter of pride that while we celebrate the 70th anniversary of one of our first biggest victories on foreign soil in hockey, we will also host the Hockey World Cup. As for the sport getting its due, I think this was long overdue,” he added.

Directed by Reema Kagti, the movie will release on  August 15, 2018.
