It’s raining medals for India on Day 8 of the Commonwealth Games 2018. After the heroics of Saina Nehwal, Jitu Rai, Chanu Saikhom Mirabai it was the turn of Indian wrestlers, Sushil Kumar, Babita Phogat, Rahul Aware, and Kiran give a dominant performance in CWG at Gold Coast, Australia.
With this India’s total tally reaches 31( 14 GOLD, 7 SILVER, and 10 BRONZE) at 21st Commonwealth Games.
India’s hunt for medals kicked off with the freestyle wrestler Rahul Aware as he crushed Canada’s Steven Takahashi 15-7 in Men’s 57 Kg to clinch India’s first wrestling Gold on Day 8 of Commonwealth Games 2018. The 26-year-old wrestler made to the finals after defeating the likes of England’s George Ramm, Australia’s Thomas Cicchini, and Pakistan’s Muhammad Bilal.

While legendary wrestler Sushil Kumar brought a Gold Medal Moment for India.
In just 80 seconds Sushil Kumar defeated Johannes Botha in Men’s 74 kg freestyle wrestling. The 34-year-old Double Olympic-medallist crushed the South African wrestler with a 10-0 scoreline, by technical superiority to win his third consecutive Gold medal in Common Wealth Games and 14th Gold medal for India.
Moreover, Sushil got easy victories over Canada’s Jevon Balfour and Pakistan’s Muhammad Asad Butt and Australia’s Connor Evans to reach the finals.
