Guess Who is The New Head Coach of Australia

We all are aware of the controversial ball-tampering scandal involving Captain Steve Smith, vice-captain David Warner and Cameron Bancroft which made the Australian Cricket team lose its image in the eyes of all the cricket lovers.

Meanwhile, the recent news is going to be a nightmare for all the cricket team in the world as Cricket Australia on Thursday has appointed former Test opener Justin Langer as the new coach of the national cricket team after Darren Lehman resigned in the wake of the ball-tampering scandal.

Well! It was not a surprise when in a press conference when Langer gave his views on facing a great challenge of defeating Virat Kohli & Co. in their home.

He also expressed his desire of welcoming back Steve Smith, David Warner, and Cameron Bancroft once their suspensions are served. While David and Steve were banned for 12 months by Cricket Australia while Cameron Bancroft was suspended for around nine months.

On the ball-tampering issue, Langer said,” They’ve made mistakes. We have all made mistakes and we can all get better,”

Further,  praising David Warner and his style of playing cricket, he said” David Warner made a mistake. I love the way he plays his cricket. I’m a cricket tragic, the way he fields and the way he bats, they are things, I guess to less trained eye, you might not respect that as much, but I love the way he plays his cricket.”

Later, sharing his ideology, Langer said,”To me, respect is worth more than all the gold in the world”

To those who don’t know Justin Langer has played his first match against West Indies in 1993, The 47-year-old cricketer has scored 7696 runs in  105 Test matches with 23 centuries. Moreover, he is also the coach of PertScorchersrs which has won the BBL three times.

Popularly known as Alfie among his teammates and fans, Langer was an integral part of the golden era for Australian cricket with likes of Shane Warne, Adam Gilchrist, Glenn McGrath and Ricky Ponting.

Over the period of time, it will be interesting to see if Langer bring in some positivity among the players as he will coach Australia in all three formats of the game and his period will commence in the role on 22. Langer has a big role to play as Australia will defend the World Cup title in 2019  along with that it will also play the Ashes Series and World T20 tournament,”
