On Wednesday, the first of the two-day VIVO Pro Kabaddi League auction we saw the making and breaking of records at the one of the high profile auction of the year. Well, there were around 5 Indian and 1 foreign player who turned rich as they entered the Rs 1 crore club.
Meanwhile, Iranian defender Fazel Atrachali was the first one to touch the Rs 1 crore mark in PKL history as he was bagged by U Mumba for Rs 1 crore. We saw Jaipur and the Mumbai franchises fighting for the 26-year-old as he was pocketed by U Mumba. Well, Gujarat Fortunegiants had a great chance to retain him but they chose not to use the FBM option.

It was a great moment for Deepak Niwas Hooda who became the 1st Indian player to cross the Rs 1 crore mark and it was Abhishek Bachchan’s Jaipur Pink Panthers, that decided to pay him a huge sum of Rs 1.15 crore and bag his services for the 6th edition of Pro Kabaddi League.

If you remember, last year, Nitin Tomar was one of the costliest players with a price tag of Rs 93 lakh. Well, the 23-year-old kabaddi player was also bagged for Rs 1.15 crore. by Puneri Paltans.

Here comes 2016 South Asian games gold medalist and star raider Rahul Chaudhary who was going to be pocketed by Delhi for Rs 1.29 crore bid, Later, we saw Telugu Titans using the Final Bid Match (FBM) at the right time to finally retain him.

While former India captain Anup Kumar who led India to a record third World Cup is going to represent the Jaipur Pink Panthers. Meanwhile, everyone was shocked to come to the terms that Captain Cool was sold at a mere Rs 30 lakh.
To those who don’t know, Kumar was retained with a price of Rs 56.65 lakh last season by U Mumba franchise. Unfortunately, he was not retained by them due to poor form.

Pink Panthers once again paid Rs 58 lakh for Mohit Chillar while Patna Pirates decided to spend Rs 21 lakh for all-rounder Kuldeep Singh.
We saw Surinder Nada in the league of expensive players as Haryana Steelers decided to spend Rs 75 lakh to keep the all-rounder in their squad.
While Abozar Mohajermighani who was the first foreign player to be auctioned was pocketed by Telugu Giants for Rs.76 lakhs.
Moreover, Bangladesh’s left cover defender Ziaur Rahman was signed by Bengal for Rs. 33.25 and raider Md Zakir Hossain was snapped up by Haryana Steelers for Rs 8.4 lakh.
Further, Jaipur pocketed South Korean Young Chang Ko and Kenya’s David Mosambayi for Rs 11.4 lakh and Rs 10.2 lakh respectively. Though they had decided to choose Iran’s Farhad Rahimi for Rs 21.5 lakh. Surprisingly, Telugu Titans decided to use the FBM option in order to retain him.
Gujarat secured the services of Iran’s Hadi Oshtorak and South Korean Dong Geon Lee after paying Rs 12 lakh and Rs 17.2 lakh respectively.
South Korean all-rounder Taedeok Eom was bagged by Patna Pirates for Rs 11.4 lakh while Bengaluru Bulls decided to pocket another South Korean Dong Ju Hong for Rs. 8 lakhs.
Again, Tamil Thalaivas had spent Rs 8 lakh to sign South Korea’s Chan Sik Park.
Meanwhile, Monu Goyat was the one who surprised everyone as he has bagged for Rs 1.51 crore to became the most expensive player in the history of Pro Kabaddi League.
