Raveena Tandon found doing this in temple, lands up in trouble

Sunday turned out to be a controversial one for Bollywood superstar Raveena Tandon as a video went viral on social media featuring Raveena offering beauty tips inside the temple premises.

With this, an FIR has been lodged against her by the Lingaraj temple administration with Commissionerate Police for allegedly shooting in ‘no camera zone’ inside Lingaraj Temple in Odisha.

Similarly, the management-in-charge of the temple administration, Rajiv Lochan Parida said, “The temple administration has filed a complaint against Raveena Tandon at Lingaraj Police Station for shooting an advertisement film in the no camera zone.”

This is a clear case of violation of security norms, Parida said as only servitors are allowed to carry mobile phones inside the temple. He further said that the incident has hurt the sentiments of the people.

Dismissing the allegations against her, Raveena said, “It was no agency and no advertising. It was all locals and members of the Mandir Trust and some media who were filming on their mobiles phones and also taking selfies.”

The 43-year-old actor also claimed that the local authorities did not alert her team or raised an objection when photographs were clicked.

Clarifying her intentions, Raveena said, “I understand temple authorities are distraught as everyone around me (organisers, security, pandits, locals) were using cellphones, clicking videos, taking selfies. I was not aware of phone ban, hence the issue.”

Meanwhile, the Archaeological Survey of India has also launched an investigation into the matter.

Lingaraj Temple is one of the oldest temples in Bhubaneswar dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple is maintained by Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) and Temple Trust Board.
