Heights of fandom: Deceased fan leaves Sanjay Dutt shocked, Catch his reaction

Movie-stars in India are considered as demi-gods but this recent incident involving a Mumbai resident has left the Bollywood superstar Sanjay Dutt dumbfounded.
Sanjay Dutt, who was busy shooting for his upcoming movie Saheb Biwi and Gangster 3 in Kolkata was dumbfounded after receiving a phone call from the police on January 29.

The police informed him that Nishi Harishchandra Tripathi, a resident of Malabar Hill had died a fortnight earlier and had willed the money from her account and her bank locker to him.

Later, the police concluded that Tripathi was a big fan of Sanjay Dutt. This mews left her family members amazed after they discovered scores of letters issued by Nishi to her bank, willing all she had to the actor.

 

Nishi Tripathi, who passed away at the age of 62, on January 15 due to an incurable illness was a homemaker.

She used to reside with her 80-year-old mother Shanti, and siblings Arun, Madhu and Ashish at Triveni Apartments at Malabar Hill.

According to reports, one of the representatives of Bank of Baroda Walkeshwar branch has shared the nomination form and a letter that Tripathi had submitted to the bank a few months before her death with  Nishi’s family members and Dutt’s attorney Jadhav.

In the nomination form, she had mentioned “Film star Sanjay Dutt” as her nominee. Further, the nominee’s address was that of Dutt’s Pali Hill home. While she had also willed several valuables to Dutt via letters to the bank.

Shocked by this incident, Dutt said, “As actors, we are used to fans naming their children after us, chasing us down the street and even giving us gifts. But this has shocked me. I will not be claiming anything. I did not know Nishi and I am very overwhelmed by the entire incident to speak about it.”
