Happy B’day Sachin: 5 Greatest Innings By Him Which Proves That He is God of Cricket

Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar who turns 45 today is one of the favourite cricketing stars in all over the world. While in India, Sachin is worshipped no less than an idol. Moreover, it is believed that Indian fans used to switch off their TV and lose the hope of winning the match after Sachin was dismissed. Till date, Sachin is the highest run-scorer in ODI’s as well as in Tests also he has 100 centuries which is highest by any batsman in the cricket history.

 

On his birthday, let’s check out some of the memorable Innings played by him:

241 not out, Australia v India, Sydney, 2004

Do you remember this epic inning by the little master? After losing third test match at MCG against Australia in 2004  when Indian players were under pressure to perform Sachin Tendulkar as always turned out to be saviour as he scored  241 n.o. at SCG, Sydney as tourists finally declared the series on 705/7 to help India draw the test series 1-1 to retain the prestigious Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

169, South Africa v India, Cape Town, 1997

Everyone remembers that Sachin was the hero of Indian cricket in the mid and the late 90’s. In 1997, After losing the first match, The Proteas decided to turn the tour of India into a disastrous one when South Africa posted a huge total of 529/7 when suddenly Indian players got in a trouble after the team lost 5 wickets for just 58 runs. Well! Sachin came out to save his team back again and scored a majestic 169. However, India went on to lose the match.

200*, India v South Africa, Gwalior, 2010

Sachin created a history when he became the first player on the planet to hit a double century in Men’s One Day International Cricket at Captain Roop Singh Stadium in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh against South Africa. His double century came in just 147 balls as India went on to score 401/3 as India won by 153 runs.

 

141,  India vs Pakistan, Rawalpindi, 2004

Defeating Pakistan in their home is always a tough task and while in 2004 when Indian player was asked to chase down 330, the little master came out as a hero as he scored 141 in just 135 balls, smashing 17 fours and a six. Unfortunately, India went to lose the match after India lost him in the 39th over.

177, India vs England, Nottingham, 1996

Sachin Tendulkar played one of the finest innings of his career when he scored 177 against England when he was just 23 years old in the first match of the series but in the end, the match was drawn.
