The Bollywood couple has been accused of putting a naval uniform that featured in Rustom for auction. According to reports, the 50-year-old superstar, who wore the costume in 2016 had put it for auction last month. While the current bid stands at Rs 2,35,000.

The group of armed officials which also included Navy Man’s wife and 7 retired officers had sent a 4-page to the couple and warned that the “said uniform, insignia and badges could pass for genuine service clothing and can find their way to anti-national elements who can use it to foment trouble.”

Akshay, who was praised for playing the role of naval officer K. M. Nanavati in Rustom has now been targeted by the defence officers.

In April, Akshay had informed to all his fans about bidding for the actual naval officer uniform on Twitter, He wrote, “Hi all  I’m thrilled to announce that you can bid to win the actual naval officer uniform I wore in Rustom! Auction’s proceeds will support the cause of animal rescue and welfare. Place your bid at http://www.SaltScout.com !”

Meanwhile, the copies of the notice were sent to Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s office along with the auctioning company, Salt Scout, to immediately stop the auction.

“by putting in auction ‘Akshay Kumar’s Rustom Naval Officer Uniform’ you have shown no respect for national interest but have also played with the sentiments of armed forces personnel and their widows including my clients, who are retired, as well as serving armed forces officials and their family members,” the notice stated.

Moreover, One of the officers had warned Akshay’s wife Twinkle on Facebook saying that she would be dragged into court if she even makes, feeble attempt to auction this piece of costume in the garb of ‘UNIFORM’

Later, Akshay came in support of his wife and said, “I don’t think we did anything bad. I can’t help if someone feels bad about it,” He further said that the costume was auctioned for a good cause.

Smita Dikshit, the Delhi-based advocate who had sent the legal notice on the group’s behalf to the couple, said Akshay, Twinkle and Salt Scout “have been given seven days to stop the auction and take necessary steps.”

So, what do you think, should Akshay stop this auction?
