Did Kohli Deserved The Man Of The Match ?

Indian skipper Virat Kohli‘s heroics all goes to vain after India lose the first test match at England. Well, it was virtually Kohli versus England rather than the whole Indian team and when Kohli has trapped lbw off Ben Stokes in the 47th over, the match was already over.

Resuming on overnight 110/5, Indian team got bowled out for 162 in 54.2 overs after Kohli was dismissed. While Kohli was the top scorer with 53 off just 93 balls, Hardik Pandya scored  31 runs. On Day 4,  Ben Stokes struck back with the figures of 4-40, he was the one who dismissed the Kohli. Meanwhile, James Anderson and Stuart Broad too came out in the hour of need to snatch a nail-biting victory over the subcontinent giants. While Indian bowlers did their job well it was the batsmen who completely failed to deliver.

How Kohli Cracked the English Challenge

Virat Kohli is like a kid in front of a candy shop who wants the most delicious candy and for that, he can take any form of challenge. As we all know Kohli has scored runs everywhere it was the England soil where he had no dominance.

On Thursday, Kohli’s century proved that he can transform himself and has the willpower to succeed too. Well, he might have walked out to a ring of boos but everyone including the English team as he walked off out for a marvellous 149. Indeed, his score. Interestingly, not even a single England batsman could hit a century.

On Day 3, India were chasing 194 runs and we saw the same story happening as the likes of Dhawan, Vijay has already surrendered to opposition bowling attack while Kohli was still standing tall at 43 not out which gave India some hopes as India required just 84 runs to seal the 1st test match with 5 wickets in hand.

On 4th Day, Kohli boosted his team’s morale with his 17th Test half-century off 88 balls before as  Stokes trapped Kohli lbw as he moved too far forward and across to counter the incoming delivery as Virat was finally dismissed on 51 and India lost the first tie vs England.

Meanwhile, Surrey allrounder Sam Curran was declared the Man-of-the-match as he scored 24 and 63 and even took 5 wickets.

We were a bit shocked after Curran was preferred over Kohli’s performance for the Man-of-the-match award. Ok, we agree that England had won the match but Kohli’s performance was remarkable. Scoring a century in the first match in different conditions is always tough. We wish Kohli was felicitated for his performance and hope that India makes a great comeback in 2nd Test match starting on August 9 and this time Kohli bags the award with a win.

Do you think Kohli desrved man of the match award?
