Akshay And Rajinikanth Starrer 2.0 Budget Cost Leaves Behind The Likes Of Deadpool And X-men

Forget Deadpool and X-Men as the budget of Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar starrer 2.0 has turned out to be higher than several Hollywood blockbusters.

Akshay Kumar who is making a debut into Tamil cinema with 2.0, a sequel to 2010 blockbuster Robot had got postponed for more than a year after the release date was finalized on November 29, 2018.

Well, the VFX movie directed by S.Shankar and featuring Rajinikanth in leading role is made on a whopping budget of Rs.543 crore ($75 million).

On Monday, Akki took to his official Twitter Instagram account and then shared a cover of Variety with the caption, “India’s first 75 million dollar VFX wonder”

Further, he wrote, “2.0 is an effort unlimited of more than 3,000 technicians around the world. #2Point0Teaser in 3 days! @2Point0movie @LycaProductions #2Point0″

Produced by Lyca Productions, the teaser of the movie will release on September 13, 2018. Meanwhile, it is hard for all of us to believe about the budget of 2.0 as both the Baahubalis together cost lesser than one 2.0.

Moreover, the eye-popping budget of the sci-fi movie is higher than several popular Hollywood blockbuster movies. After the news, let’s check out those Hollywood movies which were made in the same or lesser budget than 2.0‘s budget:

Deadpool (2016)

Deadpool which costs more than $58 million is considered to be one of the biggest blockbusters of all time. After adjusting the inflation, as of 2018, the budget is around $60.90 million.

Independence Day (1996)

Directed by Roland Emmerich, Independence Day starring Will Smith was made at $75 million. After adjusting the inflation, Independence Day as of 2018 is $120.46 million.

X-Men (2000)

The first movie in the X-Men universe was made at just $75 million in 2000. But as of 2018, the inflation-adjusted budget is $109 million, yet it is interesting to know that their budget was similar to 2.0.

District 9(2009)

Directed by Neil Blomkamp, District 9 was made at just $30 million and after comparing it to 2018, the inflation-adjusted cost is $35.24 million which is less than 2.0.

It (2017)

Directed by Andy Muschietti, It which stars Jaeden Lieberher is one of the biggest horror blockbusters of all time and it was made on a budget of $35 million.
