Virat Kohli Does That Which No one Could Do, Scores 500 Plus Runs In IPL For The 5th Time

Virat Kohli, the name says it all; Yes, He is the “King of kings” and right now the only man on the planet who is enjoying a monopoly in World’s most popular sport. Scoring centuries under pressure is just a game for this man and breaking records is his habit. Well, he is just 29 and with each passing day, the guy is setting new milestones.

If you think we are exaggerating his contributions to the Indian as well as world cricket then you must know that Virat has now become the only man to score 500 runs in an IPL season for the 5th time during their encounter against Kings XI Punjab at Holkar stadium in Indore on Monday.

Just before the beginning of the game, Virat just needed 34 runs to achieve the historic feat. Well, the RCB skipper had different plans as he smashed 48 not out to crush the R Ashwin led side by 10 wickets in the 48th match of IPL season 11.  Though Virat missed the half-century he is currently the leading run-scorer in the history of the IPL

After pacer, Umesh Yadav scalped 3 wickets to bowl out Kings XI Punjab for just 88 runs, Virat (48 off 28 balls) and Parthiv (40 off 22 balls) chased down the total in just 8.1 overs to grab this wonderful opportunity of improving RCB’s Net Run Rate (NRR) to keep their hopes alive for the playoffs, which is going to start on 22nd May, 2018.

While David Warner has scored 500 for 4 times, Suresh Raina, West-Indian batsman Chris Gayle, and Gautam Gambhir have touched the milestone for 3 times only.

For those who don’t know, Virat is the only player in IPL to score 900+ runs in a single edition which makes him the most dangerous batsman in IPL.

In the current season, Virat stands fifth in the list of most runs scored in IPL 2018 which is led by Delhi Daredevils batsman who has scored  582 runs in the season so far.

Moreover, Virat currently has 35 centuries in ODIs which puts him just behind the maestro Sachin Tendulkar who has 49 ODI centuries.
