U19 WC: India beat Pakistan, Sachin, Harbhajan wishes luck for the final

India will take on Australia in ICC U19 World Cup final after defeating their arch-rivals Pakistan in the semi-finals 203 runs at Hagley Oval.

Tuesday was a special day for the neighboring Asian countries as both teams were fighting against each other for a place in the finals.

As the game started, India looked more confident than Pakistan as Shubman Gill and Ishan Porel gave significant performances to ensure that the team reaches the final of ICC under 19 World Cup.

Gill scored an unbeaten century so that India could reach the total of 272/9. While Pakistan faced their heaviest defeat in the world cup as they got bundled out for mere 69 runs.

As the match progressed India got good partnerships in Gill and Harvik Desai later with Gill and Anukul Roy. Moreover, the opening wicket partnership of 89 runs between Prithvi Shaw and Kalra was a significant one for the team.

Moreover, Ishan Porel took 4 wickets along with the other bowlers Riyan Parag and Shiva Singh who scalped 2 wickets each.

Gill scored an unbeaten 102 runs and broke the record of the skipper Prithvi Shaw’s score of 94 to become the highest individual scorer for India in the tournament.

Shubman Gill had a fantastic world cup when he scored 341 runs in the tournament at an average of 170. Later, he took a marvelous catch in the second innings.

Pakistan failed to take over the match from the Indians when they missed a lot of run-out opportunities and dropped catches.

Pakistani player looked uncompetitive throughout the match as their highest partnership of the innings was only 20 runs between Muhammad Musa and Saad Khan.

In the end, Abhishek Sharma took the last wicket of Arshad to earn a memorable victory for his team.

Legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar tweeted, “Quality play with great dominance in all departments. Splendid display! Good luck for the finals. #INDvsPAK”

While Harbhajan said,” Cup jeet kar aana hai.”
