National Award winner and Padma Shri awardee Nana Patekar, who is one of the seniormost actors in Indian film industry has recently got into a deep trouble after a Bollywood actress had accused the 67-year-old actor of sexual misconduct.
On Tuesday, Aashiq Banaya Aapne famed actress Tanushree Dutta accused the Kaala star of sexual misconduct on the sets of 2009 movie Horn Ok Pleassss.
She further revealed about speaking out against Nana for making inappropriate advances during the shoot of a song, a project which she decided to drop out.
After Hollywood, Tanushree’s bold move displays that Bollywood’s #MeToo campaign is beginning to catch on, which has never been highlighted earlier because the actresses have always feared to share their experiences on this sensitive topic.
Further, she revealed, “Everyone knows about Nana Patekar… that he has always been disrespectful towards women.”
“People in the industry know about his background, that he has beaten actresses, he has molested them, his behaviour with women has always been crude but no publication has printed anything about it,” said Tanushree.
In 2008, Dutta had accused him of bad behaviour but he denied all her claims.
“At that time when I accused Nana Patekar of sexual misconduct, nobody stood by me as we were living in a climate of fear and silence,” Dutta added.
A few days ago, we had shared how the 34-year-old actress Tanushree Dutta had transformed herself
Dutta in an interview in Hindi with Zoom TV claimed that Nan Patekar had touched her inappropriately, mistreated her and had even demanded that an intimate scene must be added into her song.
Moreover, she said that big superstars such as Akshay Kumar and Rajinikanth have worked with Patekar on many projects are still working with him, which makes things impossible to change.
