Shakti Kapoor might be the happiest person right now after her daughter’s Shraddha Kapoor movie Stree did a marvellous business at the box-office.
Directed by Amar Kaushik, Stree which stars Omerta actor Rajkummar Rao in a male lead, the horror comedy has been performing well since its opening day.
The horror comedy which had clashed with Yamla Pagla Deewana: Phir Se has now completely outnumbered the Deol family’s action comedy-drama by a big margin, all thanks to the good word-of-mouth and highly positive reviews.
Well, Stree has now made it hard for the new releases to mint money at the box-office.
Moreover, Stree is now the 9th movie this year which has made more than Rs 100 crore at the box-office. Indeed, this is truly unimaginable. Earlier, movies such as Padmaavat, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, Raid, Baaghi 2, Raazi, Race 3, Sanju, and Gold could achieve this feat at the box-office in 2018.
According to reports, the movie has earned Rs 101.43 crores at the box office in just 16 days of release.
Sharing the box-office report, Bollywood Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh wrote, “And #Stree hits a century… Crosses ₹ 💯 cr mark… [Week 3] Fri 2.14 cr, Sat 3.76 cr. Total: ₹ 101.43 cr. India biz… This one’s a LOTTERY for its investors.”

Moreover, Stree marks the beginning of good times in Shraddha’s career as the movie becomes her first commercial success since Baaghi in 2016. Further, the movie is Rajkummar Rao’s highest-grossing movie since he made his Bollywood debut in 2010.
On the work front, Shraddha will be seen opposite Shahid Kapoor in Batti Gul Meter Chalu and will be making her south debut Prabhas starrer Saaho. While Rajkummar will collaborate with Sonam Kapoor and Anil Kapoor in Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga and work opposite Kangana Ranaut in Mental Hai Kya.
