Virat Kohli’s latest record-breaking ton against West Indies at Visakhapatnam has once again fired up the old hot debate of Virat vs Sachin comparison. With that century the Kohli is now getting closer to his hero and legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar.
A few years ago, the idea of breaking the mammoth record of 49 centuries scored by Sachin Tendulkar in ODIs seemed impossible but this Delhi lad came out of nowhere and has made the task of scoring runs look so easy. We all know that Kohli has already scored 37 centuries with his recent against West Indies.

In the same match, he became the 13th cricketer in the world to go past 10000 runs in ODIs and joined the list which is ruled by Sachin Tendulkar, who has scored 18,426 runs.
Also, he is the 5th Indian batsman to have achieved this feat only after Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid, and MS Dhoni.
Virat vs Sachin Comparison- 2018
Indeed, Kohli’s century yet again raises the interesting question, “Can Kohli break the record of Tendulkar?” Well, with the speed, Kohli is scoring runs along with Dhoni on the verge of retirement, Kohli seems to be an ideal successor of Tendulkar.
Before doing any sort of virat vs sachin comparison, it is necessary to understand that both the cricketers possess unique qualities and have made the country proud with their performances.
Further, we all know that Sachin and Virat are the two prominent batsmen in the cricket history. So, the virat vs sachin record analysis is done to draw a complete picture of how they both stand in ODIs and Test matches?
At the age of 29, the Indian skipper has already established himself in the 50-over format. Also, his average is 59.62 which is much better than Tendulkar’s average of 44.83.
Also, Kohli has achieved the feat of 10000 runs in just 205 innings while Sachin had achieved the same in 259 innings. Moreover, Kohli took just 10 years, 67 days to become the fastest batsman to reach 10000 runs while Sachin had taken 11 years, 103 days.

Interestingly, If Kohli keeps on playing with this average he can definitely score more than 60 centuries and more than 20000 ODI runs.
Moreover in test matches too, Virat has made his mark and has around 6,331 runs in 73 matches. Well, his Test records are simply awesome as he has already scored 24 centuries.
While Sachin has scored 51 centuries and has 15921 runs at an average of 53.78. The task of Kohli looks difficult in Test matches though he has a slightly better average of 54.57.
Taking his current form into consideration, it will not be surprising to know that Kohli can easily surpass Sachin. Well, if he can then definitely he is going to make the Indians proud.
Well, Kohli’s art of smashing centuries has now made us get addicted to him. Moreover, we can clearly see the hunger in him to score runs in his every match.
Indeed, the guy is born to rule and shatter all the records.
