After facing sucah a huge defeat against Bangladesh in the first match of the tournament the 5-times Asian Champs are now knocked out of the tournament after they got crushed by Afghanistan on Monday.
All credit goes to Afghanistan’s batsmen who provided them with a strong start with Ihsanullah Janat and Mohammad Shahzad adding 57 runs for the opening wicket. Meanwhile, Rahmat Shah’s 72 and Hashmatullah Shahidi’s 37 helped Afghanistan post a competitive total of 249.
For Sri Lanka, Thisara Perera claimed his first 5-wicket haul since 2012 but the Srilankan batsmen couldn’t survive against Afghanistan’s spin attack and they kept on losing wickets before getting bowled out for just 158 in 41.2 overs.
