Check Out Soorma Trailer: Punjabi Sensation Diljit Dosanjh Brings Hockey Star Sandeep Singh’s Story On Screen

After making his debut in Udta Punjab in 2016, Punjabi sensation Diljit Dosanjh seems to be trying something with his 4th film titled  Soorma which is based on the life of star Indian hockey player Sandeep Singh who was paralyzed and used a wheelchair for almost 2 years after he was injured by an accidental gunshot in 2006.  Well, the movie is straight in the League of Dangal & Bhaag Milkha Bhaag

Apart from Dosanjh, the movie also stars Pink actress Taapsee Pannu and Angad Bedi in pivotal roles. Going by trailer, the actors have really worked hard to transform themselves into their respective characters.

Meanwhile, the Phillauri star recently took to Twitter to share the official trailer, he wrote, “youtu.be/c7MwlTFQBEQ #Soorma Trailer .. Agar Acha Lagge Toh Plz Share”

The 2 minutes 49 minutes trailer gives us a perfect glimpse at the gripping story of hockey player Sandeep Singh. The trailer starts with a carefree Sandeep who desires to impress the love of his life. Suddenly, we spot a sudden change in him when he finds his ultimate goal in the game of hockey.

Unfortunately, fate has different plans for him as when he is out on a mission to win a medal for India, an accident leaves him completely paralyzed. As a result, Sandeep not only loses out on playing the game but even his love.

Well, we see the birth of a new Sandeep who picks himself up, gathers strength and makes a miraculous comeback in the team with sheer determination, hard work and unrelenting passion for the sport. Indeed, the movie is really inspiring and a must-watch.

Further, the movie is written and directed by Shaad Ali while music is composed by Shankar Ehsaan Loy and lyrics is penned by Gulzar.

Speaking about the ex-captain of the Indian hockey team, Diljit said, “There was a little embarrassment too, that being an Indian and a sports enthusiast, I didn’t know about the story, wasn’t aware of the person (Sandeep Singh). So there was a guilt that why we weren’t aware.”

He said, “It is just probably a way to rectify it, that let us be the medium to present his story. I hope now no one else says the same after the film.”

Produced by Sony Pictures Networks India, Chitrangda Singh, and Deepak Singh Soorma is scheduled to release on July 13, 2018.

Definitely, it’s a story which needs to be told.
