PV Sindhu Gets Her Name In Forbes List Of Top 10 Highest Paid Female Athletes In World

Ace badminton star PV Sindhu has yet again made all the Indians proud by achieving this big milestone. Well, the 23-year-old Olympic silver medalist recently entered the list of top 10 paid female athletes in the world, as per the annual list published by Forbes on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Serena Jameka Williams, the tennis player is again named the highest paid female athlete for a 3rd consecutive year in 2018 which was dominated by tennis players from all over the world.

Well, the 36-year-old American tennis star who had returned to competition in March after giving birth in September 2017 earned $62,000 in winnings over the past year.

Further, PV Sindhu, who stands at 7th position is the only Indian female athlete in the list while she and retired race car driver Danica Patrick are the only non-tennis players to break into the list of top 10.

The 23-year-old girl from Hyderabad earns USD 8.5 million-per-year. According to sources, Sindhu’s stock has only gone above both on and off the field after her sensational performance at the Rio Games in Brazil in 2016. She had bagged silver in badminton at the 2016 Summer Games and since then she has been the face of Indian badminton.

Williams, who will equal Margaret Court’s record of 24 grand slam titles when she competes at the Aug. 27-Sept. 9 US Open in New York earned twice as much off the court as any other female athlete.

Indeed, this is a remarkable feat achieved by PV Sindhu at such a young age. Over the years, she has turned out to be one of the biggest marketable stars and is considered a big brand in the cricket-crazy country and we believe that she is going to make it in her life.

We wish to see more Indian female athletes breaking into the list in the upcoming years.
