‘Panipat’, another grand historical drama directed by Ashutosh Gowariker is coming up

Ashutosh Gowariker, who is popular for producing historical dramas like Jodha Akbar and Mohenjo-Daro is working on one of his favourite projects.

This time, the filmmaker is all set to come back with a new period drama, Panipat which is based on the story of the third Battle of Panipat.

For his upcoming project, the 54-year-old director has cast Arjun Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Sanjay Dutt.

This is going to be an interesting pair-up as Arjun Kapoor and  Kriti Sanon will work in collaboration with Gowariker for the first time. While Dutt has already teamed up with Gowariker in Naam, Arjun and the Bhoomi actor will share the screen together for the first time.

Sharing the poster, Dutt tweeted, “Looking forward to be a part of this one.”

Expressing his fascination towards period drama, Ashutosh Gowariker tweeted, “Historical dramas have always fascinated me. This time it is a story about what led to the Third Battle of Panipat,”

Praising Arjun, he said, “What impresses me most about Arjun, apart from his fine performances – is his dynamism. He has played double roles twice, and he has portrayed an action hero as well as a lover boy.”

Further, he appreciated Kriti’s beauty and termed her as a ‘good performer’.

Meanwhile, Kriti Sanon said, “Proud to be a part of the recounting of bravery, passion and patriotism in the Third Battle of Panipat.”

“Proud to bring the valour of the Maratha warriors to the big screen”, said Arjun Kapoor.

Produced by Sunita Gowariker under their home banner AGPPL  along with with Rohit Shelatkar’s Vision World Panipat – The Great Betrayal is scheduled to release on December 6, 2019.
