No Padmaavat – PadMan clash as Akahsay Kumar postpones film’s release to Feb 9

The much-awaited Republic Day clash between the two gigantic Bollywood films- Padmaavat and PadMan has been doing rounds since the inception of the New Year but the recent news is that the clash of these two big films has been averted.

Thus, the Akshay Kumar’s ‘PadMan’ that also includes Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte in lead roles is re-scheduled to release on February 9 which makes the epic period drama movie a solo release in the upcoming weekend.  Must Read: Jio Filmfare Awards 2018: Complete list of Nominations

Confirming the news, the Toilet star said, “It is not about competition, it is a very big day, a big week, so all the films can come, both the films can release on that day. Every film has the right to release whenever they want, and I am happy for them.”

Akshay referring the Padmaavat director as his friend said,” “He has gone through a lot. It is essential for them to release the film at this time; their stakes are higher than mine,”

Prernaa Arora, the co-producer of PadMan said that it will be a reckless to release her film with Padmaavat which has robust cast in Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor.

According to the sources, Sanjay Leela Bhansali the director of Padmaavat had met Akshay Kumar personally and had requested him to push the release date of R.Balki directorial ‘Pad Man’ to avoid box-office clash with ‘Padmavat’ on 25th January 2018.

Now, this means the other box-office clash between Akshay Kumar’s ‘PadMan’ and Sidharth Malhotra’s ‘Aiyaary’ on 9th February 2018.
