Watto Storm Blows Away Sunrisers As MS Dhoni And His Yellow Army Lift The IPL Trophy

It was a historic moment for all the IPL fans to see legendary cricketer MS Dhoni and his Yellow Army again lifting the prestigious IPL trophy after a long interval of 7 years.  Well, the 36-year-old skipper deserves every credit right from the beginning of the match for leading his team from the front and making his team win the finals.

Yes, After facing 2-year suspension Chennai Super Kings are back with a bang and MS Dhoni and Co. has now proved everyone wrong who said that there are almost 9 players in the team who were in their 30s that includes star players like Shane Watson, ‘Chinna Thala ‘ Suresh Raina, and Ambati Rayudu.

Well, the records say it all 7 finals in 9 attempts and it’s a massive achievement. Moreover, it was a dream come true for every CSK fan to see them holding the trophy for the 3rd time. Now the yellow army is the only team after Mumbai Indian to win 3 IPL trophies.

Chasing the target of 179, it was great to see the likes of Shane Watson and Suresh Raina leading from the front. Playing against the ferocious SRH bowling attack, Watson was having a tough time on the pitch as he took almost 11 balls to get off the mark. While Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Sandeep Sharma tried their best to exert pressure on CSK batsman.

After the completion of powerplay overs, we saw Watson started to show his real colours.

Watch some of the special moments of CSK’s victory, shared by the official Twitter account of Indian Premier League. Well,  Siddarth Kaul, the hero of the win over Kolkata Knight Riders was looking helpless as he conceded 43 runs in 3 overs.

While we saw Suresh Raina also joining the party with Watson as they build a mammoth 117-run partnership in which Watson’s contribution was 82 off 33 balls, Raina’s 32 off 24 balls.

At the end of the powerplay overs, CSK were standing at 35/1 while in comparison with SRH they were much behind as the orange army were at 42/1.

Suddenly the game changed as CSK were at 133 when Raina was dismissed and they just needed 46 off 39 balls. In the 13th over,  Sandeep Sharma was smashed for 27 runs in which Watson scored 26 with 3 sixes and 2 fours as they beat SRH by 8 wickets in the finals of IPL 2018.

Though SRH skipper Kane Williamson scored a 36-ball 47 while Yusuf Pathan smashed a quickfire 25-ball 45 not out yet it the Yellow army’s experience of handling the IPL finals made them win the trophy.
