Making his debut against Bangladesh way back in 2004, the helicopter shot specialist played his 320th ODI against England. Well, he achieved the landmark when he caught Jos Buttler off Umesh Yadav during the 2nd ODI of the 3-match series.

MS had came into the match with 298 catches and reached 299 with the wicket of Ben Stokes off Hardik Panday. Moreover, the right-handed batsman is now only the 4th wicket-keeper to achieve this milestone. The other 3 cricketers are Australia’s Adam Gilchrist (417), Mark Boucher (402) and Sri Lanka’s Kumar Sangakkara (383).

This is a great achievement by the wicket-keeper batsman. Intrestingly, he also holds the record of most stumpings in the format with 107 dismissals. He has 100 or more stumpings in ODIs while retired Sangakkara stands at second on 99.

Well, so far he has 407 dismissals in ODIs and again he is at 4th in the list of most dismissal in ODIs.

Recently, he became the 1st wicket-keeper to take 50 catches in T20 Internationals. In the final T20 match, he had achieved the milestone by taking Jason Roy off debutant Deepak Chahar.

Further, he took 4 more catches that made him the first wicket-keeper to take 5 catches in a single match. Now he is the top wicket-keeper with 87 dismissals (54 catches and 33 stumpings) in 93 matches.

Well Dhoni aka Thala has immensely contributed to the country and we must appreciate his efforts.
