Pakistani left-arm fast bowler Mohammad Irfan gave an outstanding performance in Caribbean Premier League on 25 August 2018 which has left the cricket fraternity awestruck. Well, the 7ft 1in pace bowler has currently bowled the most economical 4-over spell in Twenty20 cricket history for his team Barbados Tridents. Unfortunately, the team has finished on the losing side against Nevis Patriots and St Kitts.

Well, Irfan has finished with the awesome figures of 4 overs, 3 maidens, 1 run and 2 wickets in their CPL match. He took the wicket of Chris Gayle and Evin Lewis before he was finally declared the Man of the match.

In spite of his marvellous performance, the Patriots batsmen had easily chased down the target of 148. Well, it was Steve Smith who gave a very poor performance conceding 27 runs in his 2nd over which includes 4 sixes. It was No.3 batsmen Brandon King who had smashed 49-ball 60 smashing 5 sixes and 4 fours. While King got support from Devon Thomas who had scored 32 off 29.
Well, the 3rd wicket stand between Thomas and King helps Patriots rise from 7/2 to 95/3 which helped the team to script an easy 6-wicket win over Barbados Tridents with 7 balls to spare. Further, the win kept the tram on top of the points table.
From Trident’s side, it was Jason Holder who had smashed 54 off 35 balls while St Kitts and Nevis Patriots’s bowlers Ben Cutting and Anton Devcich took 2 wickets each as Tridents posted 147/6.
While Irfan said that he was happy with his performance but he would’ve been happier if his team could have pulled this match.
“I’m really happy. I would’ve been happier if the team won, but I am happy that I bowled one of the best spells in T20 cricket,” Irfan said after the match.
“I liked bowling on the lively wicket, and I get extra bounce because of my height, so yes, a satisfying performance,” he added.
