Manjit Singh Displays An Unbeatable Performance In 800m Race, Bags 9th Gold Medal For India In Asian Games

What a finish by the Indians at the Asian Games! It’s time to congratulate Manjit Singh who bagged 9th gold medal for India at Asian Games 2018. Well, the Indian middle-distance runner finished just ahead of compatriot Jinson Johnson to win the gold medal in the men’s 800 meters race at Jakarta.

Manjit Singh Chahal who had finished the race in just 1 minute and 46.15 seconds, is currently receiving praises from all over the country on the social media platform. Indeed, the Haryana boy has made us proud with his achievements for the country.

President Ram Nath Kovind and Sports minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore congratulated the runner for his extraordinary effort at the event.

BJP President Amit Shah too congratulated both the athletes.

Meanwhile, Johnson who had broken legendary Sriram Singh’s 42-year-old 800m national record in June during the National Inter-State Athletics Championships finished second in 1:46.35. Further, he holds the national record of 1:45.65 too.

According to sources, Manjit is jobless yet the 28-year-old Indian runner shocked everyone with his energetic performance.

Well, both the Indians gave a brilliant show in Men’s 800 m finals to bring a gold and a silver for the country. We are proud of both of them.

More medals for India

Meanwhile, India has earned more medals through Malaprabha Yallappa Jadhav (bronze) and Pincky Balhara (silver) in the women’s 52kg category.

Well, the 2 teenagers didn’t have enough money to buy their kits. Well, they have got the kits with the help of sports ministry.

“People in my village pooled in Rs 1.75 lakh to send me to training camp. They all have supported me a lot. I am forever indebted to them,” Balhara said to PTI.

Further, PV Sindhu has given a terrific performance as she has won a historic Asian Games singles silver medal for India. Further, it is the first time when India has won a medal other than bronze in badminton at Asian Games.
