NEET 2018 Result Out! Bihar Girl Kalpana Kumari Tops Exam, Scores 99.99% Percentile

On Monday, CBSE announced  National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) 2018 results at around 12 pm. To our surprise, Miss Kalpana Kumari, a student of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Sheohar (Bihar) has secured AIR 1 in NEET UG 2018 which is held for admission to the government or to a private medical and dental college across the country.

Meanwhile, along with the results, the board has also released the cut-off marks for 2018 too. While for the unreserved category, the cut off this year is 119 marks, for the reserved ones cut off is around 96 marks.

Reports say Kumari had trained for the exam in Delhi to score a whopping 99.99 percentile in NEET which was held on May 6, 2018.  Well, She received  171 marks out of 180 in physics 160 in chemistry and 360 out of 360 in biology, which combined botany and zoology, to score 691 marks out of 720

After Kumari, Rohan Purohit from Telangana had bagged the 2nd rank with 690 marks. While 3rd ranked Himanshu Sharma scored 690 marks in the exam.

According to reports, around 13,26,725 students had registered for the exam, in which 5,80,648 were boys and 7,46,076 were girls. Meanwhile, 3,12,399 boys and  4,02,162 girls have qualified in the exam. Also, 1 transgender had registered for the exam and has also managed to qualify too.

Among the top 10 rank holders, there are only 2 girls and 8 boys. While there are only 14 girls in the top 50 NEET rank holders, Further, there are  60,000 seats in medical and dental institutes across the country.

Note:

Now, the Online Counselling to 15% All India Quota Seats, Deemed Universities, Central Universities, Seats of ESIC and AFMC, BHU, and AMU will be conducted by  Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Government of India. Alos, detailed information will soon be released on the MCC (Medical Counselling Committee) website.

While for state quota and other seats falling under the ambit of States, candidates will have to apply to their domicile states. Also, as per State rules and based on All India Rank a merit list will also be prepared by concerned Counselling Authorities.
