IPL Auction 1st Day comes to a riveting climax as cricketers mint money on the hammer.
Ahead of the 11th season of IPL, franchises were found checking the list of 578 players including 332 uncapped players, 244 capped players, and two Associates players.
From the list of 109 players who were auctioned around 78 players were sold while the remaining 31 players went unsold on Day 1 of the auction.
Around Rs.318.10 cr was spent in total on these players.
England all-rounder Ben Stokes got the highest bid for Rs.12.5 cr. The England all-rounder was roped in by Rajasthan Royals.
Chris Lynn, Mitchell Starc, Glenn Maxwell were the other hot picks in the IPL auction.
Indian youngsters Manish Pandey, Dinesh Karthik, Sanju Samson, Karn Sharma, KL Rahul were the top picks among the franchises.
Furthermore, Mumbai Indians pick Krunal Pandya for Rs.8.8cr as he became the highest uncapped player in the history of IPL auction.

IPL Auction Day 1 turned out to be gloomy one for the big stars Chris Gayle, Joe Root, Lasith Malinga, Murali Vijay, Ishant Sharma, Hashim Amla, James Faulkner and Martin Guptill as they remain unsold.
