Under 19 World Cup Prithvi Shaw smashes 94 as India score 328/7 ICC Under 19 Cricket World Cup, India vs Australia

Tauranga: The 7th match of ICC Under 19 Cricket World Cup 2018 played between Australia and India at Bay Oval had an exhilarating start as India post 328/ 7 against Australia. The Australian Under 19 cricket team are one of the favourites as the side has been crowned thrice in the last 18 years while the expectations are high for the Indian U-19 team, coached by the veteran cricketer Rahul Dravid which will definitely want to lift the trophy the fourth time in the current tournament.

India scored past 300 in their first encounter with the Australia. Prithvi Shaw, the 18 year 0ld skipper, stole the show with his swashbuckling innings of 94 against the world’s best side. While Manjot Kalra and Shubman Gill played one of their fine innings to ensure that India post a challenging score against the three time U-19 world champion.

The skipper along with Kalra missed the opportunity to score a century, Shaw got the edge and was dismissed by the keeper while Kalra got out at 86. The partnership between the openers was a great boost for the team until the lower order started falling early but still managed a perfect score for the team.

India selected to bat after winning the toss while both Shaw and Kalra gave a cautious start but once they got settled they ensured to keep their momentum and kept on playing shots. Australian Bowlers were looking helpless in front of them and were not been able to trouble the team. Now, the Indian bowlers have a task to complete and make way for their team to glory.

Australia start their innings with the score 0f 55 at 12.3 overs with Edwards  and Bryant at the crease. Check live score here.
