Guess what Jisshu Sengupta have to tell about Kangana Ranaut?

Rani Laxmibai popularly referred as “Jhansi ki Rani” is known for her heroics in Indian Rebellion of 1857. Manikarnika:  The Queen of Jhansi’  is a film based on the life of Rani Laxmibai. A few months ago, the poster of Manikarnika was released in which Kangana Ranaut was seen donning the looks of Rani Laxmibai. The Queen star had previously launched her films poster at Dashashwamedh Ghat in Varanasi.

Jisshu Sengupta, the Bengali actor will star opposite Kangana Ranaut in his next upcoming period-drama, Manikarnika. He will essay the role of King Gangadhar Rao, who is known as the husband of Rani Laxmibai. People who recognize Jisshu Sengupta, know him for his extraordinary works in Mardaani, which was directed by Pradeep Sarkar with Rani Mukherjee in lead while he has also worked with Deepika Padukone in Piku, directed by Shoojit Sircar. He marks his return in Bollywood with Jagarlamudi Radhakrishna directorial venture, Manikarnika.He emphasized that his role demands him to understand the role perfectly as plays the role of a historical character.

He praised Kangana as an actor and revealed that, “Working with Kangana has been such a treat. She is like a true goddess on sets. She is always very polite and quite the earnest type. She is a phenomenal performer and is very supportive towards the entire cast.”

The Bengali star who was excited about his role in his upcoming film said that he was working with Srijit Mukherjee in a period film in which he was also paying the role of a king but he had decided to let Manikarnika go as both films dates were clashing. However, the Manikarnika makers came up with revised date while Srijit gave him few days off, in this way; he got the opportunity to work in Manikarnika.

His admired the looks, designed by Neeta Lulla while has also learnt horse-riding and will get trained in sword-fighting for the film.

The epic biographical film produced by Zee studios with Kamal Jain and co-produced by Nishant Pitti is expected to release on 27th April, 2018.
