All the Akkians out there, Get ready to witness Akshay Kumar in a whole new patriotic avatar for his new movie Gold which is based on a true incident about India winning its first gold medal in field hockey as a free nation in the 1948 Summer Olympics.
In the latest poster released by the filmmakers, Akshay has completely nailed it with his new looks. Sharing the poster, Khiladi wrote, “Desh banta hai jab sab deshvasiyon ki aankhon mein ek sapna hota hai.”

The teaser begins with a slide which says “Please stand up for the national anthem.” When the national anthem of India is about to start we see that the British patriotic song God Save The Queen just begins at the same point.

The teaser than points out that for 200 years Indians stood for the British national anthem. While we were touched by the passion in Akshay’s eyes when we see him taking out the national flag from his inner pocket. The teaser continues to say, “until, one man’s dream, made the British stand up for our Anthem.” It was a patriotic moment when the teaser ended with a roaring sound of “Vande Mataram.” Well, he looks like a hockey player who wants to make his country proud.
What a moment! When Akki is spotted holding the Indian flag close to his heart.

Apart from Akshay, the movie also stars Mouni Roy, Kunal Kapoor, Vineet Kumar Singh, Amit Sadh and Sunny Kaushal in pivotal roles. The movie is directed by Reema Kagti and written by Javed Akhtar.
Talking about the movie, Ritesh Sidhwani told to PTI, “It is not a biopic. It is a completely fictional story but it is set against a real backdrop between 1933-48 India about what the country was, the sports… About hockey. It is not based on any character.”
According to reports, Former Indian hockey captain Sandeep Singh was signed to train the actors to improve their hockey skills. While the major shooting is done in Yorkshire and The Midlands, England.
Indeed, Akshay Kumar’s movie is a must watch on Independence Day. Produced by Excel Entertainment, Gold is scheduled to release on August 15, 2018.
