FIFA Snub Messi Shortlists Ronaldo, Modric And Salah For Best Men’s Player Award

FIFA has recently announced it’s 3-man shortlist for the ‘The Best Men’s Player of the Year 2018’ award and you will be shocked to know that Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi has not been able to make in the top-3 for the first time in 12 years.

Meanwhile, Portugal star Cristiano Ronaldo, Mohammed Salah and Luka Modric are in the final three for the FIFA ‘The Best Men’s Player of the Year 2018’ award with Cristiano Ronaldo being considered as a favorite to win it for a 3rd consecutive year.

Well, the  33-year-old football star will receive a tough competition from his former Real Madrid teammate Luka Modric and Liverpool’s Mohammed Salah, who had recently won the UEFA ‘Men’s Player of the Year’ award.

Meanwhile, Ronaldo who had scored 15 goals helping Real Madrid to their 3rd consecutive UEFA Champions League title in 2017/18 have shocked the whole world by making a shocking move to Juventus.

Further, Ronaldo’s biggest competition will be Croatia’s Modric, who had a superb 2017/18 season and had even won the UEFA ‘Men’s Player of the Year’ award.

Modric who had a tremendous form with his country taking them to the final of the World Cup 2018 and was even awarded the ‘Golden Ball’ for his brilliant performance in Russia.

Now the outsider in the 3-man list is none other than the Egyptian superstar footballer. He had an outstanding season with the English club, after scoring 44 goals in all competitions for them in 2017/18. Well, he has finished 3rd in the UEFA ‘Men’s Player of the Year’ and his chance to win the award looks very less against Modric and Ronaldo.

While fans are expecting Ronaldo to easily win the award again we are expecting this year’s FIFA award to be one of the closely fought since past many years.

Moreover, in FIFA’s Best Coach category former Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane,  Croatia’s Zlatko Dalic and  France’s Didier Deschamps are among the final 3 nominees.

FIFA’s The Best award is voted for by 4 groups, each with 25 percent weight in the final vote: high-profile journalists, national team captains, football fans and national team coaches.
