As the legendary footballer, Lionel Messi’s poor performance in the tournament has left all the fans depressed. In last matches of Group D, Argentina will face Nigeria while Iceland will play against Croatia even after having a single point and a -3 goal differential after 2 matches.
After the results of the Iceland–Nigeria game, They still have a chance of advancing to the next stage with the following scenarios:
If Iceland beats Nigeria: Argentina needs to win against Nigeria, an Iceland loss vs. Croatia and to have a better goal differential than Iceland. Even after a draw with Argentina if Iceland wins against Nigeria then it would mean Argentina would have at least a goal difference of -4 to make up.
If Iceland and Nigeria draw: Argentina need a win vs. Nigeria also an Iceland draw/loss vs. Croatia.
If Nigeria beats Iceland: Argentina needs to win vs. Nigeria and to have either Croatia beat/draw Iceland or to have a better goal differential than Iceland if it beats Croatia.
So, Guys Don’t lose hope Messi and Co. still have a chance to qualify.
